Alexa Brooks (b. 1975) is an artist, educator and art historian. A graduate of Salve Regina University, she received an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and later earned an MA in Contemporary Spanish Art History at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain.

Alexa’s drawings and painting emerge from a deep-seated passion for art history and an unwavering commitment to traditional practices. At the core of her artistic endeavors lies a quest for an authentic encounter with texture, spaces, and nature.

She is an assistant professor of art at the University of the Cumberlands and is co-author of The Visual Arts Workbook which will be published in the spring of 2024.
